Dear parents and students,
Spring semester has begun even as we experience the nice cool weather of our winter!
Our winter recitals went very well. I do want to let the 2:30 students and families know that there was a problem with the low D on the piano that I rent from Mokihana Club. It was dealt with during our refreshment break between the two recitals that day, but I apologize to the students who were a little thrown off by the “D” situation. Anyone who plays piano knows how even one note can disrupt concentration and flow of the piece. We will try to assure that doesn’t happen in the future and I have contacted the Mokihana Club and piano tuner in regards to this issue.

Tuition, as always, remains the same each month. Each student will receive 19 lessons and 2 performance classes for the semester. All holidays are figured into the schedule.

Saturday, June 3 2:30 or 4:30 pm Lihue Parish Hall.
Please let us know by Saturday, May 20, which recital you prefer so that we can honor your choice.
As I discover new ideas, this year, students will be asked to be helpers for a variety of things, like: design a program cover, decorate Parish Hall, Emcee, helpers for programs and seating of younger students, etc. More on this as we get closer to recitals.
NATIONAL PIANO GUILD AUDITIONS
This year’s piano guild adjudicator comes from Maryville, Tennessee. Her name is Krystyna Koneczny. Dates will be May 16-18.
Very few people returned the information sheet (2nd page) of last newsletter. This means either it didn’t get home, it wasn’t read, or was lost. A new ½ sheet request is being sent home to those who lost the first one.
PLEASE RETURN that information.
In addition to our website, kauaipiano.com, we also have a new closed group Facebook page, Lois Ricciardi Studios. You have to request to belong to the group, so please do so at your earliest convenience. Our Facebook page will contain pictures and lots of things that our students are involved with. It will not be open to the public. I am new at this, so bear with me!
